Earn. Learn. Qualify.
Do you want to earn while you learn, with the chance of progression once you qualify? Do you want the opportunity to grow, develop and be the best version of yourself? Then why not build the foundations of your career with an Apprenticeship at Durham County Council.
Why choose Durham County Council?
Durham County Council is a fantastic place to work but if you need convincing, we’ve asked some of our apprentices to share their own stories at Apprenticeships at Durham County Council. You can also hear from John Hewitt, our Chief Executive, and how his career started with an apprenticeship.
Apprentice (Housing Management)
Have an interest in helping to providing a good standard of living to residents in the County? Then an apprenticeship in Housing Management could be ideal for you!
You will be responsible for providing day to day support and housing management services to tenants who are living in Durham County Council managed properties.

You will also be assisting tenants in new council housing, as part of the Council’s programme to build new social housing. We will require you to demonstrate a good standard of comprehensive tenancy management skills.
What qualification will I gain?
You will study towards the Housing and Property Management Level 3 standard with New College Durham.
What will I need?
You must either have or expect to achieve 2 GCSE’s grade 9-4/A*-C in Maths and English or an equivalent Level 2 qualification, together with good communication and ICT skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Please look at the attached person specification to check that you meet the essential criteria.
