As an Asset Management Officer (AMO), you will take responsibility for a defined portfolio of sites, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, on time, and represent best value. You will work closely with the Senior Contract Supervisor and liaise regularly with clients, councillors, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities - You will:
- Take responsibility for your own area of work, ensuring behavioural, quality, and safety standards are met at all times
- Manage allocated sites and report to the Senior Contract Supervisor
- Liaise regularly with clients, councillors, contractors, and service providers to ensure effective delivery of works
- Ensure all works are carried out safely, to the required specification, and in compliance with service standards, codes of practice, and current legislation
- Carry out follow-up site inspections to verify quality of workmanship, service delivery, and ongoing safe working practices
- Interpret technical recommendations and progress works to ensure conformity with agreed procedures and standards
- Keep up to date with compliance, health, and safety requirements relevant to the role
- Actively contribute to service development through continuous improvement initiatives
- The post holder will have to travel across the County and work within varying environments which will include but not limited to confined spaces, working at heights and external weather conditions
- Have a strong focus on achieving client expectations and meeting key targets
Communication & Working Environment
- The role involves both spoken and written communication, therefore confidence in the use of the English language and mathematics (numeracy) is essential.
- Travel across Corporate and Commercial properties, including land-only sites, will be required
Professional Qualifications - Essential (must be working towards or willing to obtain):
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Level 4 qualification in Surveying or Compliance (e.g. Quantity Surveyor, Fire Risk Assessor)
- CDM Certification
Desirable:
- PRINCE2 or equivalent Project Management qualification
- NEBOSH
- Other relevant qualifications will be considered and can be discussed during an informal conversation.
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel across the County
- Good level of mobility – the role requires use of ladders, climbing scaffolding, and accessing confined spaces
