Derbyshire County Council is seeking an ambitious, forward thinking property leader to take on a pivotal senior role as Assistant Director for Estate Strategy & Development. This is a rare opportunity to influence how a major public sector estate supports communities, frontline services and the local economy. You will provide strategic leadership across estate management, asset strategy and property development, overseeing a diverse and high value portfolio.
You will shape and deliver the Council’s Asset Management Strategy, ensuring land and buildings are fit for purpose, future focused and financially sustainable. The role includes sponsoring major capital projects, leading transformation programmes and overseeing complex estates activity such as acquisition, disposal, valuation and development all within the context of transformation change in local government, in the form of LGR.
Working closely with elected Members, senior leaders and external partners, you will play a visible role within the Council’s extended leadership team, helping to drive corporate priorities, organisational change and sound financial and estate development acumen.
We are looking for a senior property professional with strong leadership experience, sound financial acumen and the confidence to advise at the highest level. If you are driven by place shaping and public value, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact across Derbyshire.
