Reporting to the Senior Engineer and Principal Engineer the post holder will carry out or assist in the detailed design of civil engineering / highway maintenance schemes. 

The post holder will also assist in the procurement, award and administration of contracts within the service as well as the supervision of highway works, ensuring compliance with best engineering principles, Codes of Practice, conditions of contract, drawings, specifications and the issuing of instructions. 

You should be qualified to at least HNC/D or Degree Level in civil engineering and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in highway engineering / highway maintenance discipline.

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.
