Please note that there are 3 fixed term contract / secondment opportunities available for a period of 12 months. We are also recruiting 1 part time position working 22.2 hours per week for a period of 24 months, please state which position you are applying for when making an application.
The Autism Targeted Support Practitioners will work with a cohort of complex Autistic young people to support sustainable inclusion, through targeted support to both school and family. They will work with a range of professionals to identify needs, create impact for the individual and support future sustainable practice within their academic setting.
The outreach model provides an intensive intervention package, at specific points of transition, ensuring that the children of Essex, Southend and Thurrock can access the services that meets their needs at the right time and forms part of the autism diagnostic pathway. The service wraps around services that currently work with autistic children and young people and complements existing provisions.
The role will require an experienced SEND professional with an understanding of autistic children and young people's needs, as well as being able to support their sensory and emotional mental health and wellbeing. The role requires the ability to build strong networks with schools and external partners, to influence staff, develop sustainable approaches and achieve joint objectives.

Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
