The West Mental Health Social Work Team within Adult Social Care are looking to recruit a Community Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP). This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking for career development within Adult Social Care to gain valuable experience with our team.
As a Community AMHP, you will work as part of a community social work team, covering Allerdale and Copeland, co-ordinating and undertaking assessments in line with the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007), Care Act 2014, and Mental Capacity Act 2005. Comprehensive knowlegde of this legislation and all relevant legal and policy frameworks is essential, as is the ability to prioritise and manage a caseload of complex and demanding cases.
A strong communicator, with the ability to adapt to audience and encourage a secure and supportive environment, you will need to demonstrate a high level of professional capability, applying specialist knowledge to resolve problems and optimise outcomes.
The right candidate will be expected to work closely with colleagues in health across a number of teams and mental health settings. In this role, you will provide development opportunities to social work and AMHP trainees/students, offering leadership and supervision, and championing person centred recovery.
We are looking for a motivated, professional, and hard-working candidate to join us, and the ideal person will have knowledge of the assessment and care management processes, as well as a commitment to partnership working.
You must be a qualified and registered Social Worker and Approved Mental Health Professional (or soon to be qualified AMHP) in order to apply for this post.
Some travelling out of county will be necessary at times.
