Full-time, Temporary post for 12 months, 37 hours per week    

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Rotherham Furnished Homes service, and we are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual with a passion for delivering excellent customer service and support to our customers.  

Rotherham Furnished Homes is a fast-paced workplace, proving quality domestic furniture and white goods to RMBC tenants.  

Supporting the Furnished Homes and Temporary Accommodation Warehouse Supervisor, the Maintenance Officer role predominately involves the delivery and collection of white goods and furniture to RMBC tenants. The role also involves conducting repairs, replacements, warehouse duties and the general maintenance of over 130 emergency accommodation properties throughout the Borough.

This is a physically demanding job, which requires daily lifting and carrying white goods and household furniture into various properties on a daily basis and in all weather conditions.

You will ensure excellent customer service is given to our existing 5,000 + customers and all new customers, be a positive team player with a collaborative approach to work and can also work well independently.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
