The Housing Options Service is responsible for discharging Bradford Council’s statutory duties towards customers in housing need under The Homeless Reduction Act 2017. 

The role involves working with vulnerable customers, preventing their homelessness and achieving sustainable long term outcomes and will assist the service in discharging its duties.

The Successful Candidate will:

• Will work alongside The Housing Options Service in collaboration with Citizens Advice Bureau assisting those customers who the council owes a duty to under The Homeless Reduction Act 2017
• Provide a high quality, client centred debt advice service in all areas of debt advice, up to and including court representation with a particular focus on homelessness prevention. 
• The post holder will have experience providing debt advice and be required to work from Bradford or Keighley depending on service needs. 
• Will manage a complex and varied caseload.
• Educated to at least QCF Level 4 standard in relevant discipline such as Certificate in Money Advice Practice, Housing Advice, Social Sciences

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.
