Harborough District Council is looking to recruit an experienced manager with specialist knowledge of parking legislation and practise to manage the Parking Services team and the Council’s car parking assets.
The Council monitors and enforces off street parking in Harborough and for three other district Councils within Leicestershire and on street parking on behalf of Leicestershire County Council across five local authority areas.
The role will involve acting as lead officer across the partner districts and being responsible for ensuring that the service operation reflects any changes in legislation, national guidance and best practice and that policies and procedures are developed and updated to reflect these changes.
The post holder will manage the resources available within the parking services team to meet the objectives set for the delivery of the parking services across the partnership and to identify and implement service improvements to reflect the needs of the partnership.
The successful candidate will have a relevant parking services qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent previous experience in managing parking services. Your excellent communication skills will help you to develop good working relationships with the four partner Councils as well as other external organisations. Your experience of managing a team will ensure that you are able to proactively manage staff performance, absence, development and welfare.
There may be a requirement to attend evening meetings or to work weekends or Bank Holidays as required.
