Can you summarise data to help find meaningful insights for different audiences?  Are you comfortable working with large databases and datasets and do you have experience of extracting and manipulating data using SQL-based interrogation tools or similar?

Whether you're an Excel expert or a database guru, if you can turn big datasets into insights that people can understand, we'd love to have you in our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced strategic team, focussed on improving the lives of people in Cumberland.  We can offer you excellent training and development opportunities alongside flexible working that allows you to keep the right work-life balance while still developing your career.

About the role:

This role offers the opportunity to work as a member of the Performance and Analysis Team to interpret and use performance information to help and influence senior management in a local authority and partnership context.

What we are looking for:

You will have excellent numerical and analytical skills together with demonstrable experience of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques.  You’ll have a good level of experience of extracting, manipulating, interpreting and using performance information with appreciation of a rapidly changing environment. The ability to interrogate large amounts of data and present data in an engaging and effective way are essential for this role, as well as experience of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate needs a flexible ‘can-do’ approach and they would have an eye for detail and opportunities to develop products or processes.

Previous experience within local government isn't essential just the desire to learn and make a positive difference.
