We are looking to recruit a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist with a minimum of 1 years post qualification experience to join the Integrated Health and Social Care team.
This post is available as either a full time or part time role.
The post will provide the opportunity for assessment and intervention for people with a Learning Disability with a range of communication needs. The post holder will provide assessment, therapy and advice, as well as support to families and professionals working with this client group.
Knowledge and experience of working with children or adults with Learning Disabilities is essential, this post can develop / further develop knowledge and skills of supporting clients who exhibit behaviours of concern, within a supportive and knowledgeable team. Direction and support will also be provided by the Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist, with team support from the SaLT assistant.
Using a person-centred focus, each person is provided with a personalised communication plan, tailored to help meet their unique needs. The team works with individuals, families and other agencies to meet health needs, promote independence, develop valued lifestyles and maintain quality lives in the community.
You will have the opportunity to deliver training and workshops to team members and professional colleagues both inside and outside the team. The post holder will work collaboratively with other professionals, both within the team and from other services as well as acting as professional supervisor of the Speech and Language Assistant.
