We're looking for someone who can lead London Borough of Merton’s Learning Disabilities (LD) Team, working within an integrated, multidisciplinary service, with a passion for making a difference.
This will include enabling all staff to undertake strength-based assessments, proactive support planning and offering quality outcomes and support for individuals with LD and Autism.
The Team Manager is responsible for the operational leadership and management of the health and social care team working with people with a LD and their carers. This includes the commissioning, assessment, planning and the provision of health and social care services.
The Team Manager will also be responsible for chairing multi-agency meetings as required and represent the department at inter-disciplinary and strategic meetings.
Responsible for the staffing budget and Personal Budget expenditure pertaining to the team’s activity, and for the performance of the team overall.
An advanced knowledge and understanding of current (the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act 2014 and Transforming Care), safeguarding adults and impending legislation and statutory guidance relating to social care and health provision.
Must have experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams and working within LD service; as well as good knowledge and understanding of the psychological, physical, social and emotional needs of adults with a Learning Disability and/or Autism.
Candidates should have extensive management experience including, inter-agency and partnership development and the development of practice standards.
You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with carers and providers to maintain focus on outcomes for services users, in line with the council’s statutory duties.
Applicants must hold a professional qualification in either Social or Health Care to degree level with current registration with relevant professional body.
